Q. Who are your medical directors and what are their qualifications?
A. They are Janice Knebl, DO and Kendra Belfi, MD. Please click here to see more information on them.
Q. Can my loved one stay here the rest of their life?
A. Our system of suites is designed to accept people from the early stages through the end of life.
Q. Can they go out overnight sometime?
A. Of course, with permission of the Responsible Party.
Q. Can we have lunch or dinner with them sometime?
A. Absolutely. We encourage you to visit the West Center whenever your schedule allows.
Q. Do you have a dentist who will see them here or do I still have to take them out?
A. We
try to provide as many services in-house as possible. Currently we have
services contracted with an optometrist, dentist, and podiatrist.
Although, you are welcome to pick your loved one up and take them to
your own specialist.
Q. How often do they get to go out in the vans?
A. That
varies based on weather, outside activity availability, and the ability
of the resident to follow direction. Safety of your loved one is a top
priority on outings.
Q. What is the nursing staff to resident ratio?
A. That varies on each shift due to the amount of care required, but we try to stay close to 1:5 during the day.
Q. How much staff turnover do you have?
A. The
West Center enjoys a much lower staff turnover than most facilities.
Approximately one-third of our staff have been here five years or more.
Q. What happens if we run low on funds after awhile?
A. Financial aid is available from the James L West Foundation for those that meet the qualifications.
