We are not "Memory Care" Assisted Living
One
of the most important differences the West Center has to offer is our
ability to care for persons at every stage of dementia. “Memory care”
assisted living centers are attractive options, but many families
quickly find that their loved one needs more physical care than is
allowed under assisted living regulations. Unlike assisted living, our
license as an Alzheimer’s-specific nursing facility allows us to
provide both social and recreational programming and medical care
without outside contracts or restrictions. Our center meets, and in
many cases exceeds, the Texas minimum licensing requirements for
nursing facilities. See below for a comparison of the requirements for
assisted living and nursing facilities.
